MOVE

A nudge for physical well-being

If you’re feeling tired and overwhelmed the last thing you probably want to do is exercise, but staying physically active can pay big dividends for your mental health. Set a goal for yourself this week to MOVE!

  • M: Find MANY ways to move. Small doses of activity throughout the day - like taking a walking meeting or cleaning the house - can increase your mental health.

  • O: Get OUTSIDE. Leaving your place and getting into nature can reduce stress, generate positive emotions, and help you be more creative.

  • V: Be VERTICAL. If you have to be at a desk for hours, find ways to stand up. Make a standing desk out of boxes or set a timer and stretch at least 5 minutes every hour.

  • E: ENJOY movement. Moving is one of the most basic joys of being human. It helps us connect, learn and choose our own adventure. Be grateful for the body you have and what it allows you to do.

Our minds and bodies are deeply connected. It may seem like resilience is something that happens only in our heads, but our bodies are the foundation for our overall health and well-being.
