A nudge for psychological well-being

The most resilient people are optimists. Not because they wear rose-coloured glasses, but because they understand that how they think shapes how they feel and what they do. Slow down this week and take more control of what’s going on in your MIND.

  • M: MAKE SPACE between you and your thoughts. The key to optimism is knowing that you can choose it.

  • I: INVESTIGATE if your thoughts are helpful or getting in the way. We all have stories we tell ourselves - don’t assume your default version is the only one.

  • N: NAME the opportunity. Most challenges offer us something to learn about ourselves, others or the world. What’s the gift of this one?

  • D: What’s DIFFERENT when you reframe your thoughts? Notice if thinking in a different way changes your emotions, your physiology or your behaviours.

Optimistic thinking is associated with better health and performance, and can help us navigate adversity and maintain forward momentum through tough times.
